Friday Favourites: 5 Quotes about Happiness

5 quotes on happiness

If you read my blog regularly you know I love a good quote.  Quotes can lift the spirit, they can be a reminder, they can bring a smile or laughter to our day.  This month, my focus is on happiness and in my Meaningful Monday post this week it was all about  Making May Your Month of Happiness.

In my Friday Favourites today, I’d like to share 5 quotes on happiness which I hope will resonate with you and lift your spirits.

The main theme appears to be that happiness is really up to us.  It is our choice whether we choose to be happy or whether we let the worries of day-to-day living rob us of peace and contentment.

I love this last quote as it really is a great reminder that life is precious and oh so fleeting.  We only have one shot at life. Unfortunately, we sometimes keep putting things off until this or that happens, or until we have enough money, or until the kids are grown.  Each day is a gift so make sure you receive your gift with gratitude and make each day count.

Be happy!

I LOVE your quotes, Sue. #4 is my absolute favorite.
There are so many great happiness quotes out there. Here are two that really speak to me.

“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”
    ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”
    ― Dalai Lama XIV

I love the third and fourth quotes… a reminder that happiness (or at least contentment) lies within and from accepting and making the best of what we have!

I think possibly the 4th one, thought it’s very hard to choose! But as someone who loves positive thinking, meditates and does reiki, that one really resonates with me! Thanks so much for linking these to #HighlightsofHappy. A lovely little post to link up!
