5 Quotes to Help you Let Go & Live

In my previous post Let Go, Accept Yourself and start Living I wrote about the need to Let Go and Live by accepting who you are and moving forward.

I selected these 5 quotes to share with you as I feel they capture the positive results when we do let go of our past, our insecurities and the way we perceive ourselves.  Life can be so good if we learn to let go of the negatives and focus on the positives in our lives.

Let Go & Live

Sometimes we are hell bent on over-planning our life.  We plan down to the last detail and are disappointed or can’t cope when life throws a curve ball.  This quote to me is saying that I should be less of a control freak with my life and actually be open to opportunities that come my way.  Enter doors that open and explore new adventures.

Let Go & Live

I think most of us are too hard on ourselves and our own worst critic.  We can forgive others but sometimes we need to actually forgive ourselves and remind ourselves that no, we aren’t perfect but we are worthy of our own forgiveness.

Let Go & Live

I’m not very good at accepting and admit I can hold a grudge.  As I get older I realise what a waste feeling this way is.  Holding on to something that happened perhaps years ago and actually stopped me enjoying my life and being happy.  Sometimes it is hard to have faith in the unknown but if you think positively it can be exciting.

Let Go & Live

I’ve written before about letting go.  Letting go of negatives in your life including personal relationships and friendships.  Some friendships can be toxic and pull us down, we might be in a job that we hate but aren’t brave enough or self-confident enough to realise that there is something better our there for us.

Let Go & Live

Oh this is one that I’ve struggled with over the years!  Trying to be someone I’m not just to please others and in doing so have been miserable.  I’m not almost 60 (this year) and finally being who I am and being proud of who I am.  The main person we need to impress is ourselves.  Be true to yourself and don’t place so much importance on what others think.

I feel the same Beth. It must be an age thing but really I wish I had felt that way years ago. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by. x

Hi, Sue. I’m a huge fan of quotes. They’ve helped me through a number of depressing and difficult times.

A kind word, a smile, a hug… A quote can embody all of these.

One, in particular, is by Lao Tzu: If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present.”

    is that a beautiful one?

I shared this on my Quotes board on Pinterest. (it’s a group board so you’re welcome to join too)

    Enjoy our day,

This is my theme for this year. These are great quotes all of which are speaking truth to me this year. Letting go is really very hardbut as the quotes say it must be done to make room for something new.

It is a great theme Melissa but not always easy to achieve. It is just a matter of working on letting go so you can enjoy all that life has to offer. Have a beautiful day. xx

Great quotes Sue, thank you, I particularly like the first one. I generally like to have everything planned down to the last full stop but sometimes I can feel the Universe letting me know to leave some flexibility because it has plans I don’t yet know about.

I’m a planner Jan and probably too organised sometimes. I need to learn to go with the flow a little more so I don’t stress out. Have a great week. xx

I love these! I’d also add… Deal with what is and not what you wish it would be. Good grief how much mental energy is wasted on wishing things were different instead of working positively through whatever the real situation is. thanks for your inspiring post!

Oh I love that Karen! You are so right about wasting mental energy I did that for so long but now I am older and hopefully a little wiser. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Enjoyed all your quotes. Forgiving is the difficult one. We say we forgive but do we forgive and forget. Thanks for linking up with Blogging Grandmothers.

Yes, forgiving needs to include forgetting but sometimes that isn’t as easy. Good point Candy. x

These are wonderful. Forgiveness is for you and not for the other person is something I had a difficult time learning, but it is totally logical and so very true. Thank you for sharing with #blogginggrandmothers. I have shared on my social media.

Yes forgiveness is a hard one Clearissa but unless we can forgive and move on we won’t enjoy life. Thanks for sharing on social media and have a beautiful week.

Hi Roseann it is hard to accept situations sometimes but I found comfort in this quote. Once we accept things we can’t change then I feel a load is lifted. Have a beautiful day xx
