A writing challenge: A sentence a day for April

a sentence a day

For the month of April I took the challenge of writing a sentence a day. I read a post by Jodie from Jtouchofstyle about writing a sentence a day and she introduced me to Leslie from Once Upon a time happily ever after .

On the first week of each month, we link our posts up and can read what everyone has been up to.

When I first heard about writing a sentence each day for a month, I thought I wouldn’t really have much to say. However, I was surprised at what a full month April was for me.

I enjoyed writing and then reading through what things had been happening in my life and it was a great way to record brief memories on a daily basis. I suppose it is a little like keeping a journal but this was just one sentence. Quick and easy to do.

What a lovely month you have had Sue – cruising the South Pacific, and spending time with your grandson. I’m very impressed by the dump truck cake, AND your commitment to exercise (ooops puts me to shame). Love the sentence a day idea too, might have to pinch it … 😉

Thanks for getting me into it Jodie and I’m in for next month for sure. I know what you mean about it sometimes being a pain but I was amazed at all I did during the month. Thanks for the anniversary wishes and yes the cake for my grandson certainly turned out much better than I could have imagined. Have a great week.

Hi Sue! Sounds like you had a good month! Isn’t it fun to look back?!

I started writing a sentence a day in January after reading Sarah’s and Leslie’s sentences for a few months. I had actually tried to join them for a while but always forgot to write my sentences…. Now that it’s become a habit, I absolutely love it and enjoy looking back at each month.

Yay, yay, yay!!! So glad you are doing this with us…hope you will come back again for May’s sentences.

So many things to comment on. That cake. That cake is something else. How in the world did you make it? Tell me you had a dump truck cake pan…is there such a thing? So adorable. Love your love for Ethan.
I have always wanted to go on a cruise. And now, seeing your pics, I need to go on one in a hurry.
Hope your MIL is feeling better.
Spa Day sounds delightful. What’s reading your numbers?
Love the idea of Saturday Sisters. Do you guys make house calls?

Thank you so much for joining us. So tickled to know you, Andrea and Jodie!!

What a fascinating and busy month you had, Sue. I’m intrigued how to set up a linky. I’d like to try this with my online group of Christian Writers of Southern Africa (aka CWOSA).

Hi Shirley, I’m not actually sure how to set it up but I could find out. Usually my co-host(s) set it up and send me the code but I’m sure it isn’t that difficult. We use InLinkz so you might be able to google it and read up on how to do it. Let me know if you need help. x

I love this idea, but wondering how to take it up with 4 days of the month gone already. Any suggestions?

Hi Corinne it isn’t too late. You don’t actually post until the first week of the next month. Perhaps you can go back over your week and see what you got up to. It would be great for you to join the link up.

I was pretty happy with the cake I must admit Rebecca as I’m certainly not a professional by any means. Thanks for the good wishes. I don’t have a photo of the rug but will get one because I might write a post about it. Have a great week and I’ve enjoyed reading your sentences as well. x

Your sentences were a delight to read, so pleased to have you join in with us, and to get a peek of life Down Under. 🙂

The cake, the bunny hat – so darn cute! My granddaughter will be three a bit later this year, and as her attention span is increasing so is the fun. And the cruise looks to have been just lovely!

Thanks so much Tamara for your kind words and warm welcome. I really enjoyed taking up the challenge and will definitely be there for May. I’m not terribly creative but I give things a go and when my daughter said ‘any chance you could make a Easter Hat for the kindy parade?’ I thought thank goodness for Pinterest. Have a fabulous week and thanks for stopping by x

Sue, this was such a joy to read. Reminds me of my old blogging days when it actually was a journal. ^_^
The water is so brilliantly blue and clear.
You did an awesome job on your grandson’s cake. My boys would have loved something like that when they were little.
I might give this a try just for the fun of it.
