Friday Favourites: Revisiting ways to re-discover who you are

Comparing ourselves to others is part of life but when we let that develop a poor self-image then we need to take a good look at who we are.  I’ve made July the month that we focus on YOU for 31 days and I think that part of that focus should be on looking at ways we can overcome our fears, self-doubt or poor self-image.

Some of these posts I wrote for ‘The Seeing Me Project’ for Miller’s Fashion. The Seeing Me Project was started by Millers and their mission is:

We live in a society where we are constantly bombarded with images of how we should look, what ‘the beautiful people’ are wearing, eating, doing. The pressure is on to be something we are not instead of promoting the unique qualities that we all have as individuals.


Overcoming Self Doubt

Self doubt can be soul destroying – I know I suffered from self doubt for most of my life.  Doubting our self and our abilities prevents us from achieving our goals and dreams.  In this post I talk about my self doubt and also point out that it is our choice whether we let that doubt hold us back or overcome it to move forward.

Learning to Love yourself will make you a better person

Women, in particular, find it so difficult to love themselves and accept themselves for who they are.  When we embrace and accept who we are we are we start enjoying and living our life to our full potential.

    It seems to me that this is the time of life when we really should be able to fully discover ourselves and be comfortable with who we are. But even so self doubt is always around ready to raise its ugly head. Another great post from you Sue x

      Yes Amrita we tend to think of everyone else and put ourselves last. Sometimes we need to change that thought pattern so we take care of ourselves. WE are happier and are much nicer to be around I think. Good luck with the challenge. x
