‘Love is all around us and so the feeling grows’ as the words of the famous song go. BUT and it is a big BUT are you loving you? In my previous post, I wrote about Love and why you should love yourself first. No it isn’t selfish, it is paramount to your health and happiness.

As Aretha sang: RESPECT YOURSELF! R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Treat yourself the way you would like others to treat you. You can’t expect people to respect you if you don’t respect yourself. Acknowledge who you are and be grateful for all the good in your life.
Look in the Mirror, Smile and tell yourself how wonderful you are – and believe it!
Sounds a bit corny but it does work. Smiling can lift the spirits and by complimenting yourself you are reinforcing the positive thoughts rather than the negative nellie that can reside in our minds.
Live a healthier lifestyle
Respecting yourself also means being healthy and treating your body with respect. Regular exercise and eating a balanced diet will not only make you feel good on the inside but you will shine on the outside.
Embrace your uniqueness
You are you – unique and lovely. There is no other person in this world like you so embrace who you are and be proud of who you are.
Take the pressure off
Don’t strive for perfection – we are only human remember. That doesn’t mean copping out of being the best version of you but it does mean cutting yourself some slack when life gets tough or you mess up. We all do so don’t beat yourself up about it – life happens.
