Have you tried different ways to relieve stress in your life? There are the usual proven stress relievers such as meditation, exercise, catching up with friends, taking a holiday, reading, jigsaw puzzles. You get the picture.
How about trying something different but something I’m sure you have all done before?
I’ve read a couple of articles on a way of relieving stress which will certainly bring out your inner child. Colouring In! Yes, Colouring In!
When I first read the articles I didn’t really give them more than a passing thought, however when I did think about it, I realized that I love colouring in. I love it when the grandchildren visit. They know where I keep the books and crayons so that is usually their first stop.
We spend hours colouring in and it is very relaxing and a lovely way to spend time together. Taking care to colour within the lines and concentrating on what colour to use where, surprisingly frees your mind of everything. We sometimes chat as we colour and then of course the finished creation is displayed with pride on the refrigerator.
The best part is you don’t have to be an artist. I can’t even draw a stick figure however I think I would be in medal contention for a colouring contest!
So why not buy some colouring in books and crayons or pencils and spend some time whiling away a couple of hours colouring in. This is an inexpensive past time and can be very therapeutic and soothing.
I know what I’m asking for as my Secret Santa gift this year!
