This post about making memories is very much along my line of thinking this holiday season. As we’ve transitioned our lives into retirement and made our home much simpler, I’ve come to appreciate that it is not the things we have acquired along the way that are important, but rather the memories. And as Erica points out in her post this week at https://behindthesceneryphoto.com/ memories that we keep are made more lasting when tied to a strong emotion. So, making holiday memories and traditions that last are connected by feelings of love, happiness, and belonging. Loved the synergy of this, Nancy Reply Sue Loncaric December 23, 2018 at 05:50Hi Nancy! I believe we can get so caught up that we forget what is truly important. Today is our blended family Christmas lunch and I always enjoy hosting and especially the looks on the grandchildren’s faces when we give them their Santa Sacks. I take lots of photos and love looking at them during the year. We don’t have the family all together very often so this is indeed a special annual event. This year we have our new grandson Elliot who is 7 months old so that will be special. I also remember one year I gave each of the grandchildren a $1 bubble wand. It was their favourite gift and also the first time my grandson Ethan who was about 18 months old at the time, had seen bubbles. I have a gorgeous photo of him chasing the bubbles and trying to catch them. Yes creating memories enrich our lives for sure. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and I look forward to connecting more with you during 2019. Thank you also for taking time to drop by and leave me a comment, I’m glad you have enjoyed the countdown. xxLeave a Reply Cancel ReplyName * Email * Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
