Hello! How are you?

Hello, How are You

Hello Sizzlers!

I just wanted to pop in mid week to say hello, I’m thinking of you during this difficult time and to offer my support.

How are you spending your time in self-isolation?

How are you coping with social distancing?

I just experienced two ways to stay connected whilst in self-isolation. Both were via Zoom which is an online video conferencing tool.  I did a workout with Peta from Strong Healthy Women and saw the other ladies participating in our virtual class.

I then had a Zoom call with my good blogging friend Donna from Retirement Reflections. I live Australia and Donna lives in Canada. We had a lovely 40 minute chat catching up and I’m not sure why we haven’t thought to do this before.  I’m thinking of setting up a call with my family using Zoom and am considering one for my ST60&Beyond Facebook group. Would you be interested?  Send me a reply to let me know if you are and what time zone you are in. The first 40 minutes is free and you can have up to 100 participants.  Here is a link if you want to check it out – Zoom

There are many ways to keep occupied and connected which I will be sharing in the Facebook Group and on the Blog.  Readers have been very creative and coming up with some great ideas to stay positive.

I’m indulging in reading at the moment and catching up on books I’ve been wanting to read plus doing my daily yoga practice through Yoga with Adrienne on Youtube.  What are you reading at the moment?

I know that many of my Facebook Group feel that having a schedule for each day has helped them.  Do you think this would help you?

The main thing to remember is that you aren’t alone, we have technology to keep us socially connected.  It is also important to remember to take care of your health by:-

  •  Stay active – I’ve been doing Yoga with Adrienne through YouTube which I love plus there are many other online workouts you can try.
  •  Eating healthy foods – now is a good time to try some new healthy recipes especially for to keep your immune system healthy.
  •  Taking time for nurturing yourself and your mental health through meditation, reading, relaxing and general self-care.
Hello!

I found this video on YouTube which is just beautiful so take some time to listen to the Couch Choir singing Close to you

Feeling lonely or socially isolated? Why not pop over to the Facebook Group for some company.  You can find us HERE!

If you want to chat feel free to reply with an email or leave a comment below toshare how you are spending your time at the moment.

In the meantime, take care of yourself, stay healthy and stay connected. I will be in touch again on Sunday xx

Have a beautiful week, Sizzlers!  Stay healthy my friends. xx

Hi, Sue – What a lovely post! The video made me laugh and cry at the same time.
And you are very fast, considering that we just chatted an hour ago. I would be very interested in doing a blogger group video meetup or Facebook group video meetup. Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help.

You inspired me Donna after our conversation. I just needed to connect with everyone and let them know that I am here to support them during this time. We had such a lovely chat and look forward to the next one. xx

That is a perfect song for my day. If my dog could sing, that would be her song. She was sick 2 days ago and while she is feeling better, she keeps trying to walk where I am walking. If I am on the computer, she is under my knees, or circles them. One of the ways I am coping, especially as I am partially retired, is getting to know other bloggers, in other countries, very, very cool. I think we all need things to takes us outside of ourselves and our own worries. Enjoying reading and connecting.

Hi Michele, I hope your dog feels better soon and glad that you enjoyed the song. It brought tears to my eyes as I listened. The blogging community is certainly stepping up to the plate to provide support and positivity. I’m proud to be a member. Take care and virtual hugs to you xx

Morning to you Sue! I love that you and Donna had a chat :). I’d be keen to join in too as I always value our chats. Your post is full of great ideas and things to do so many thanks for keeping us together at this time. I love our blogging community mainly for the positivity and thought provoking issues that come out. We can all support each other through these days. That yoga comic is the best and I have shared it now too. Thanks again for all you do xx

Hi Deb it was really great to catch up with Donna and I don’t know why we haven’t done this before. Will need to include you next time! I love the yoga comic as well and it is good to try to bring some humour into our lives especially at the moment. Take care xx

Hi! Thanks for the uplifting post. LOVE the “Warrior (Worrier ) poses. I’m doing yoga on line, dancing in front of the TV (old saved shows) with ’60s music blaring for the beat, and walking when it’s not snowing/sleeting/raining here in the Boston area. Writing. Reading. And sending healing vibes to the world.

My pleasure Pamela and thank you for taking the time to leave me your thoughts. I love the Yoga poses as well and always have a chuckle when I see them. There is so much we can be doing at home if we have the right mindset. Unfortunately, many are overwhelmed at the moment and their minds are anxious. I really think that yoga and also making a schedule of how you will fill your day is important. Take care and stay healthy xx

Sue, I am going to try and connect with the Zoom thing. A new learning experience for me! And it’s 5 PM Sunday for me, so I’m planning it as my Happy Hour with friends – don’t be shocked if I have a glass of wine. I’m also doing Yoga with Adriene – not daily but targeting 3 times a week. (love the worrier poses!) Yesterday I did a Zumba live led by an old co-worker who is stuck at home and watched our local zoo’s on-line safari. Lots of reading and crosswords. And my other biggie – “pantry cooking” – looking at what I can create using things in pantry and freezer. It’s actually scary how many things are buried in there now that I’m digging in.

Hi Pat, it would be lovely if you can join us for the Zoom chat and of course if it is Happy Hour bring a wine! I love Adriene and am finding a yoga practice each afternoon is helping me relax and sleep better. I love Zumba too! At least you are keeping active and love the idea of ‘pantry cooking’ we are certainly all becoming more creative in ways we can survive the self-isolation period. Take care and look forward to chatting. xx

Hello, to YOU! We are hanging in here in El Paso. More restrictions are coming this week but they are needed. We had flea markets open with hundreds of shoppers packed into very tight quarters as late as this past weekend. The city shut them down. Just crazy to me that anyone would think this was a good time to go shopping with a few of their closest fellow El Pasoans. I just do not get it. The number of cases of the virus has doubled in just a few days. So glad you and Donna connected via video conference or Zoom or Facetime. I know that was some kind of uplifting conversation featuring some great brainstorming!!

Take care my friend and it was so lovely catching up with you via Zoom. We should do this more often. Maybe you could take your BookClub onto Zoom once a month?

So great to hear an on-line choir! Great occupation for the whole family during social isolation!

It was lovely wasn’t it, Rosemary? I believe they are producing one more. So uplifting and yes the whole family can be involved.
